15.01.07 - Optus major projects
McCourt Dando's communications division is successful for its bid on the Optus CBD project in Sydney. The project scope involved the breakout from the Energy Australia Network where Optus currently have their network, and the installation of over 40 pre-cast concrete, fibre optical jointing manholes around the busy Sydney CBD.
01.01.07 - Railcorp
McCourt Dando NSW are successful in its bid for a 7km signal upgrade for Railcorp.
The project consists of the installation of communications and signaling conduits between Waterfall & Helensburgh Railway Stations. The terrain, access and slope stability problems in the area call for selective machinery to be used. With the majority of the tracks being less than 3m in width and the ground conditions being rock it suits our 30 tonne Trencor RockSaw. The project also involves 7 separate under track crossing that will be directional bored using our new Vermeer 36x50. The existing signaling conduits along the route are direct buried and our new Ring O-Matic 550 Non-destructive vacuum unit will be used to pot-hole in advance of the rock saw to ensure there is no damage to any existing services and therefore any interruption to the Rail Network. The project is due for completion by May 2007.
